The first three Dead Sea Scrolls were acquired by Professor Sukenik .

Professor Sukenik's Scrolls

  • An incomplete manuscript of the book of Isaiah that closely resembles the medieval copies of the book of Isaiah 1QIsab .
  • The Thanksgiving Hymns , which was a collection of hymns in praise of God, similar to the book of Psalms .
  • The War Scroll that describes a coming conflict between the "Sons of Light" and the "Sons of Darkness" . It reads very much like an Armageddon-style story about the ultimate fight between good and evil. It was written in a military language and style.
